"Sheryl's life"

Sheryl's circle

Her music professors tell...
Raymond Herbert : he says she's not as gifted as her older sister is; she has "a sweet and sensitive behavior"; and she's very determined.
Mary Jackson : she found her relatively quiet, straight-laced and nice.
Jay Oliver : on the whole he thinks Sheryl is "really a sweet and very innocent girl"; rather naive musically, who makes efforts to seduce and who's smiling.

Her parents :
In the Hit Machine of 5 Dec.1998, Sheryl said the following : "Of course my parents are proud of me, but they prefer what they listen to..."

Her collaborators :
Sheryl doesn't have the same team for each album.... Sheryl made a serious mistake in an American TV interview. When asked if her song "All I Wanna Do" was autobiographical, she answererd "Yes". She had not written the words of the song. She actually meant that like song was "metaphorically" autobiographical, but it damaged the friendship she had with her "Tuesdau Night Music Club" collaborators. Many people said she was selfish but that is not my opinion. She simply was not careful with her words.

The Tuesday Night Music Club crew.
Picture taken from the sleeve album.

Bill Bottrell : Sheryl describes him that way : "The most patient and full-sentimented producer". Despite this, a rift between them took place during the recording on of the Sheryl Crow album, because of a different point of view concerning the procedure to be followed. Sheryl wanted to harden the tone, whereas Bill made a point of continuing on in the same way that Tuesday Night Music Club was recorded. Moreover, Bill was a little too profit-minded for Sheryl. The fact that he left was very important, seeing that it was him who found the melodies, and seeing that, musically he did a bit of everything. Nevertheless, we can't really say we have felt Bill's leaving for Sheryl was very well thought out. Her first piece without Bill proves it : it's purely and simply A Change !

Todd Wolfe : he was part of the "Sheryl Crow" and "The Globe Sessions" albums, he's a guitarist.
Dan Schwartz : he's talkative. According to Sheryl, he's "always faithful towards good music".Only present for "Tuesday Night".
Jeff Trott : guitarist, he has become very important since Bill Bottrell left the crew. Therefore, he amply participated in the preparation of A Change, If It Makes You Happy, Superstar..., he has been there from the start. And this is not by chance, for she pictures him as "my musical alter-ego".
Kevin Gilbert : he could play anything and he had specially participated in the atmosphere created in Run Baby Run. Miss Crow says about him : "I owed him a lot during two years of music and emotional support, thank you".Unfortunately he died in 1996. Brian McLeod : "Honestly one of the best", a great compliment coming from Sheryl ! He actively participated in creating music : Sad Sad World, Everyday is a Winding Road, A Change... He has been with Sheryl from the beginning.

David Ricketts : he creates a good atmosphere in the band. He plays bass on Leaving Las Vegas. He left the band before the preparation of the Sheryl Crow album.

Scott Bryan : he plays a bit of everything but only on the "Sheryl Crow" CD.
David Baerwald : funky guitar. He only participated in Tuesday Night.
